What Is A Treatment?

Treatments read like a short story, except they are told in the present tense and describe events as they happen. A film treatment is a piece of prose, typically the step between scene cards and the first draft of a screenplay for a movie. It is generally longer and more detailed than an outline and it may include details of directorial style.

Character Draft Ideas

When deciding who would play the characters of Joey, Danny and Sophie, we had to take into consideration of availability of the days we wanted to film, if the actor fit the part of the character we wanted to cast them for and if they can play the part convincingly and authentic to how we want the character to be portrayed. Luckily the list we have created

Logline Research

To research loglines...i looked at examples so i could get a rough idea of how to write mine for my film:

Example 1:
Title: SWINE HEART HORROR
Writers: Theresa Carey and Bruce Brochtrup
Genre: Sci-Fi Horror
Logline: A mild-mannered Jewish doctor struggles with bizarre personality changes, unfamiliar slaughterhouse memories and increasingly violent episodes after receiving an emergency heart transplant of unknown origin.

Example 2:

Title: Mo Mushi
Writer: Wade Barry
Genre: Dramedy
Logline: Two gay men from San Francisco move to a small Wisconsin town to open a sushi dance club.

Example 3:

Title: Keynote
Writer: Zach Asman
Genre: Dramedy
Logline: An Internet billionaire returns to his hometown to deliver the keynote speech at his old high school's graduation.

Example 4:

Title: Two Can Play
Writer: Glen Delahave
Genre: Black Comedy
Logline: After suspecting his wife is cheating, a bitter lawyer treats it like any other case and must begin an investigation to gather witnesses, obtain evidence and arrange for an extravagant dinner party at which to present his case to her family and friends.

From looking at examples i come to the conclusion that loglines are a brief summary of a film often providing both a synopsis of the films plot, this is to connect to the audience and stimulate the audiences interest in the film. Loglines can be a sentence long or a short paragraph, the reason for this is because they are enticing the audience to see their film where as if it was longer that might give away the story making the audience not want to see the movie because the element of surprise has been taken away!

Potential Target Audience (Use Voki)

Our potential target audience we are aiming for is teenagers, specifically around 13-19 but can also be suitable for 19+. The reasoning for this target audience is because our characters are going to be in their teens so our target audience can relate to these characters and what they are going through. Another reason for having this age as our target audience is that statistically teenagers are the mainly the audience for cinemas so spend money at theatres and when they go to the cinemas we know that our movie will have the upper hand on getting these teens money as our movie appeals mainly to them.

What Is A Target Audience?

In marketing and advertising, a target audience, is a specific group of people within the target market at which a product or the marketing message of a product is aimed at. For example, if a production company makes a comedy film, it is specifically aimed at the target audience of the younger generation and fans of comedies.
A target audience can be formed of people of a certain age group, gender, marital status, e.g teenagers, females, single people, etc.

Class Work

As a class we were divided into four groups and were given different tasks to complete. Some of these tasks were to go into depth on what a target audience actually means, technical aspects of filming, building props for an action movie, creating costume for an action movie and choosing make-up that could be used for an action movie. I took a significant amount of pictures during this productive lesson and i have posted them below.
